- ANNUAL SCHOOL EXHIBITION – 3rd DECEMBER, 2011
THE SECRETS OF THE SEA
“The earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountains and the sea, are excellent school masters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from our books.”
An exhibition engages your brain, hands and social skills in playful investigation. The School Exhibition on the 3rd Dec, 2011, hosted by Rajhans Vidyalaya, was a scientific journey into the various realms of the ocean, entitled “THE SECRETS OF THE SEA”. The exhibition was inaugurated by our esteemed Chief Guests’ Cdr. Abhishek Kankan & Dr. Shankar N. Gajbhiye. Capt. B. C. Kumawat and Shri D.D. Udeshi also visited the exhibition. Our guests were awestruck by the exhibits they saw and interacted with our students on the work done by them.
The challenge was to drain the imagination of the students and explore the unknown.
Every child is a genius in his own way, they are gifted with vitality and an analytical bent of mind which was expended in the enrichment of life through the discovery of a new world under the sea.
Every class was allotted a topic and an enquiry based learning meandered…
The primary section, the eager beavers, portrayed in different hues and shapes under water flora and fauna, various treasures and minerals it holds in its bosom. Exciting water sports from ball zorbing to scuba diving kindled the love for adventurous sports. The highlight was the animation characters, toddlers bracing the attire of King Poseidon, mermaids and square pants spongebob. It was innocence personified.

As we climbed up to the secondary section a more profound world unravelled. The fifth and sixth graders enthralled the spectators with the names of a variety of scintillating sea cuisines, festivals and dances, even performed the koli dance with alacrity. The models were a kaleidoscope of the immortalised remains of sub-merged civilizations under the sea. Life along the sea shore and oceanography were also some of the topics conceptualised. The eight and the ninth graders mulled through three zones of the sea, various mysteries like the Bermuda triangle, the dead sea, issues that affect the ocean and the silently dying coral reef, the food chain, the mystery of the black deep water smokers. The tenth graders excavated the wealth of the sea, its commercial products, medicines obtained, the glittering jewels extracted from the sea bed. Sea water as a pivotal resource of Tidal energy and desalinisation were some of the topics, delving deeper into knowledge.

The projects of the senior secondary students explicated new mining methods, telecom cables, GPS, Sonar and commercial separation techniques. Eventually, the eloquence of poetry and literature based on adventures of the sea, 20,000 leagues below the sea, the ancient mariner, serenaded to the gales of the sea.
Innovation is about being exciting, creative and fun and ultimately it can lead to a learning experience. This exhibition really inspired the young innovators of the future. By highlighting the important role that innovation and creativity play on a day to day basis,it proved to be a huge success.
